I’m Carlos A. Rodríguez, founder and director of The Happy Givers Non-Profit and founder of The Happy Giversstore.
For more than 15 years, I have traveled around the world serving communities, standing alongside people experiencing hardship, and reminding them that their dignity is never negotiable. I’m also the author of Simply Sonship and Drop the Stones.
Today, my greatest passion is leading The Happy Givers Non-Profit, known in Puerto Rico as La Fundación Happy. Our work is centered on restoring dignity to older adults through community kitchens, food delivery routes, a solidarity grocery store, community farms, and practical assistance for families facing food insecurity.
From our campuses in Vega Baja and Morovis, Puerto Rico, our team grows food, prepares and delivers meals, creates spaces for community, and serves hundreds of older adults every week. We are also expanding our work so we can reach more communities throughout the island.
Every purchase from The Happy Givers store helps make this work possible. One hundred percent of the store’s profits supports the nonprofit’s mission. We are also committed to producing more of our products locally, creating opportunities in Puerto Rico while serving our customers with greater care.
None of this would be possible without my incredible wife, Catherine, our three amazing children, and the dedicated team, volunteers, donors, and partners who believe, as we do, that Los Buenos Somos Más.
